Can you make this poll so that we can select more than one option? I wanted to select: "No, I don't think it is right for religious reasons and would not do it" as well as "No, I don't think it is right for other reasons and would not do it" ... posted by nocturnal_anonymous |

would you buy a car before you test drove it? If you have 500K to blow on a luxury car/sports car whim, allone then sure you would buy the car before test driving it. posted by volonteshiva |

ryder: Pre-marital sex - yes or no? Why/Why not? 1) Do animals have any pre-marital rules? Why should we? It's completely unnatural to MARRY before SEX. It's a perversion of nature, so to speak, to stop yourself. "No sex before marriage" is in the same category like "No drinking Coke before driving licence". 2) The "No sex b4 marriage" rule is an old rule from a time where there was no effective sexual protection. Thus this rule basically says "No children before man and woman live underneath 1 roof" and "Don't bring STDs into your family". Nowadays it makes no real sense anymore. 3) You should also ask: "Pre-marital sex - yes or no? Marriage - Yes or No?" since this rule is clearly an IDEAL rule regarding RELIGIOUS marriages which actually have no real purpose (except IDEAL benefits). Administrative marriages have of course their clear advantages (saving taxes etc...). 4) "No sex AFTER marriage - yes or no?" is actually the same perversion and shows how ridiculous suppressing your sexual profile is. Don't get me wrong. I have nothing against women wanting to stay un-devirginated. But a serious discussion of this question reminds me of discussions with stinkz, where he tried to convince everybody that there is VALIDITY and LOGIC behind the Christian faith other than mere FAITH. posted by knn |

Let me also add that the ones who choose "No, I don't think it is right for religious reasons and would not do it" have of course to stay unsexed for their whole life if they don't find anyone to marry. MOREOVER, they are prone to marry fast (= the wrong one) because they cannot stand the pressure anymore. MOREOVER, failing to stay sexless before marriage can raise doubts and feelings of guilt. MOREOVER, failing to keep your children off sex before THEIR marriage can invalidate and again, raise feelings of failure. One could say that these things are a proper punishment for people who try to pervert nature. posted by knn |
