So the new installment to the Mezmerize/Hypnotize double disc album is in, well it has been for a few weeks. Regardless, I'm writing this now. I think it's been worth the wait in some ways, it was certainly an interesting addition to the double album. There were some annoying lyrics, but only in about 3 of the songs. The songs are definitely not as catchy as Mezmerizes songs are, but that doesn't mean they're bad or even worse. They flow well as a continuous album, and listening to Mezmerize and Hypnotize from start to finish like they were one album works nicely. I think there's different things I like about both the albums and combining the two just makes them better. I've been busy with a lot of other music and playing, so I havn't gotten to listen to it much, but it was worth the money. And in comment to your post in the other thread Oneder, yeh it's definitely good and I can't think of any albums that have come out this year that flow aswell it does, but it doesn't have the best songs I've heard this year compared to a few other albums. I still don't know if I like Mezmerize/Hypnotize more than the old stuff. posted by hungarian kid |

No offense, HK and ONEder, but to me this band is truly awful. Before today I had only heard "Chop Suey" on the local alternative station, and it was always my least favorite song in the rotation, just because of that guy's ridiculous voice. But since you guys are buzzing so much about SOAD I listened to some of their old and new stuff on Itunes, and I couldn't believe how bad it was. The song "Hypnotize" seemed all right, but then that same guy jumped in with his ridiculous voice and all I could think of was "Chop Suey." It's not that they're untalented, they can obviously play, but...the voice, it's horrible! Now I have to go listen to Muddy Waters for a while to wash the voice out of my ears. posted by MindSlavery Radio |
