 This Google Map Mod is really interesting, but I prefer the Map Mod from Bananaweizen, there you can search for the place where you live. Who knows his geographical coordinates? Beside there you can see who lives in your vicinity so you can contact them for some reasons. A connection between both would be interesting. Perhaps I will try this, this could be really interesting. posted by Loeffel |

The really interesting part of it is the zoom feature. Although we're sort of A/V geeks we don't know, well some of us like me, our longitude and latitude. Click on any part of the map and the long and lat in the boxes will change and there you go. The selection by the member is done in their profile panel. BTW, zoom in on Boston, MA or NY the detail is phenomenal. You will be able to see building windows. 
FWIW, I have hooked up with a few members this way (one from NJ and one from MA) and went golfing. 
Also concerning our little problem. I believe this issue is not with the mod that I had originally thought may be the culprit but now believe it to be an issue with Categories Hierarchy. If you are not familar with CH, it changes the core of phpbb using classes...viewforum is no longer used for example. I hope I said that correctly. lol I can cut and paste/follow instructions with the best of them, as well as adjust template layout, but I can't code php for doo doo. I have the old version of CH installed and it runs just fine with this mod. I haven't installed the 2.x.x because it isn't running with many mods. 
It is fine, but in germany you have no cities or something like this named, so you have no possibility to identify the position of your zoom except of the terrain. I'm very sorry, but I don't know the terrain of whole germany. So the positioning is useless. posted by Loeffel |

don't know exactly what to say about that. 
FWIW, I took a few snap shots. the long and lat can be as specific as you like (within 3 feet I believe) or not. Is editable and searchable via the map in both the ACP and user cp...we like it...or at least I do.
