Here's the best tip for protecting anything using PHP that has been coded well.

Enable Safe Mode
Disable register_globals
Disable magic quotes
Disable ALL functions your scripts aren't using!

Finally: Only use scripts YOU have made! Because in the end what you build from scratch will have what YOU want and will eliminate the need for feature switches and other blah that could be exploited.

While all your tips are good, it's like saying:
To protect your PC by these tips:
• don't use email or internet
• only use your own or microsoft software



Your tips are OK, but not realistic I think.
