Just watched an... errrm.. Evaluation copy. He plays the emotion card a little much for me, but there's a lot of good points made and a lot of loose ends tied neatly together. I can see it as either a love it or hate it film, I'm undecided. As a film, I think it's poorly made, but as a message I think it's brilliantly written. It has the all the clips of Bush and Powell, saying all the things they now say they didn't as well as all the puppetry of the media laid bare for all to see. I was particularly saddened to see the Marine recruiters trawling the poor neighbourhoods for kids to prop up the army numbers - kids that until now had been ignored by the U.S. Government, kids that see it as the only way out of their poverty. And it portrays Bush as a bumbling daddies boy in the pocket of the Arabs, which is pretty much how I've viewed him for a long time. posted by Marl64 |
