The Chatterbox is for bumping and 'kissing' and random threads, nonsense actually. That place is a complete mess, moreso than other places on Gaia, and you'll see many pathetic things going on. That's where a lot of the topics that are made go when they are not 'good enough' for GD or ED. I'm not saying there's not any pitiful topics in GD though.

Yes, I agree. you must have dropped into the Chatterbox rooms. The only purpose there is to post as many times as possible, it doesn't matter what it is just so that you post. By posting you acquire gil or gold or whatever the hell you wanna call it. With more gil you can buy a better outfit for your character or weapons. Weapons being part of the latest patch update. Some people hold Best Dressed Contests and give out items and gil to the winners. But I use it cause everyone I know uses it so its more like a e-mail box with no junk mail.  posted by Houshou |

Threads like those are usually moved to GD or Chatterbox. Most of the time people who make threads like those in ED are joking around, trying to piss people off, other times, it's just obvious stupidity. For example the thread: "dos being fat make u stupid?" and then the creator of the thread went on to say that all fat people are morons... Anyways. Yes, most of the time Gaia is like one big 'spam olympics' because there are so many idiots posting needless topics everywhere. If people actually 'followed the sticky rules', then there'd be a lot less spam. But...yeah, some people there seldom follow the Gaian rules. posted by iklbug |

My posts on Gaia are many, there just aren't a lot of recent ones due to the...ickiness of the latest topics. I think I have...around 2500 posts (as when I was new to Gaia I made the stupid choice of spending time in Chatterbox bumping)? And not all of them are readable, only around 50 or so me thinks. I'm sorry if I came off sounding rude in my previous post, it's just that I detest stereotypes and generalisations as I am stereotyped too much on Gaia as well as real life. Everyone is. The reason I'm posting in this thread and this thread alone on IMO is for that reason. If I'm to go to any other thread on IMO I want to make sure I am not going to be called a 'dumbfuck' for posting my opinion, no matter how different from others. But...yeah, some people there seldom follow the Gaian rules. do you think that there are soo many people posting soo much random, off the wall, crap because they get caught up in the "gold"? it seems that the site is mostly about...the avatars. the more posts you make, the more gold you get, the more things you can buy for your avatar and therefore the "cooler" your avatar gets. right? so whatever chance someone has to get more gold, they will take it (which is posting a ton of crap no matter what is said in the post) because they want to be the "first one on the block" with the coolest new anime clothes for their anime avatar? maybe if there was some type of moderator (well it would have to be more than one...a whole hell of a lot more than one) or a way to not award people "gold" for off-topic posts or remarks people wouldnt do it so much? like if people got no gold at all for making an off-topic post, they would stop making them? or has it already gone to far? posted by allone |
