I don't think being mysterious and mad is a good thing at all. It separates you from people which is definately a bad thing, causes people to worry about you more than they really wonder about you. It is a sin and also I would advise people NOT to take drugs if they want to risk a part of themselves that society holds dear. A great example of this is Syd Barrett, a guy I really feel sorry for, but the thing is he wanted that kind of stuff, no matter how much time he spends convincing himself he doesn't he loved the attention he got when people felt sorry for him, isn't this true? I feel sorry for him.
