Nope, in most countries freedom of speech is limited if it's
• hate speech
• pornography
• terroristic instructions
• lies

double standards

Quote:
The row came as the Home Secretary David Blunkett said he wanted to make inciting religious hatred, including against Muslims, a criminal offence as soon as possible.

He said it was needed to stop people being abused or targeted purely because of their faith.

Sounds as if everybody is insulting the honourable Dr just because he is a Muslim. Pfah. They say he *has regularly denounced the killing of innocent people in the 11 September attacks* - for what reasons is he not allowed into US then?

Looks like the Muslim have much the same difficulties in interpreting their sacred texts as Christians do - if there are prominent *thinkers*, some of whom praise suicide bombings and some say it's not allowed.

I think this is called *double standards*. When a white middle-aged straight male will be locked up for abusing any one who can claim to belong to whatever minority.

you don't think that by condoning the act of suicide bombers he is,in his influential position among the muslims, helping to promote and endorse more people to commit these acts

this would fall under anti semitism(which he quite clear) demonstrates)
inciting racial hatred and promoting terrorism

abu hamza did far worse outside his finsbury park mosque every week and was only stopped when the US sought to have him extradicted to America to for terrorism offences...

yet Robert Kilroy silk gets forced to resign from his job for making what is in comparison to abu hamza's comments...very mild statements about certain middle east regimes and their treatment of women and harbouring of terrorists

Maybe he is. And Bush was also in a position to "help" more people to against Saddam to send bombers against Bush.

It's just the point of view that we say "Al-Qaradawi looks aggressive and support bombers" and "Bush looks stupid and supports bombers" and "Bush is against bad Saddam" and "Al-Qaradawi is against evil Israelis". Just a clash of viepoints.

Who is right you simply cannot tell. Their fruits will tell who has started more harm.

I, for my part, don't like him. Just my point of view.

hahaha

anyway...the police are now investigating a complaint against him by a jewish representative group and hence he has withdrawn from speaking at a conference that was to be funded by the police

Suicide Bombing is a Sensible Choice Under Tyranny

On the subject of suicide bombing, I have this to say:

The people who carry out suicide attacks in totalitarian countries are demonstrating that they are, on the whole, the healthiest people, not the craziest, in the society. Here is why:

Tyranny is depressing because it negates the self of the citizen in favor of the self of the leader. In other words, people learn not to have any hopes or dreams of their own, and to only identify with the hopes and dreams of the leader. This is called "depersonalization" in psychological jargon. Anyone living under tyranny who has a normal mental profile will therefore likely become depersonalized, depressed, and, eventually, suicidal.

People who are truly insane, and who live in totalitarian societies, will either become Robin-Hood-style rebel leaders or sell out to the government and become henchmen of the leader, like the Sheriff of Nottingham does in the Robin Hood stories. In the Islamic world of the early Twenty-First Century, the "Robin Hoods" are the terrorist leaders like Osama bin Laden. And the Sheriff of Nottinghams are your Saddam Husseins, who sell out to create Soviet- or Nazi-style dictatorships with the help of western leaders. And you can argue all day about who is the "Black Prince" or leader himself.

(As for me, I don't think there is anyone in charge, just a bunch of henchmen and rebels reporting to each other. If I had to take a guess as to who the ultimate authority in the world is, I might say Prince Charles of the United Kingdom, just because he is the one person in the world who is guaranteed of success in his life's mission. Everyone else has to just take their chances, but he is guaranteed of becoming the Head of State, no matter what, and their are very few people in the world who care enough about the British Monarchy to try to stop Prince Charles from becoming king.)

The reason why the people who become "Robin Hood rebels" or "Sheriff of Nottingham henchmen" are truly insane is because they are delusional and can't see the futility of their actions: both sides claim to be fighting the other in the service of the real ruler, yet both sides are actually in the service of another henchmen or rebel, who is either fighting against or capitulating to another leader.

But suicide bombers are taking the matter into their own hands and stirring up trouble for both sides, even though the Robin Hood rebels claim that the suicide bombers are working for them. Really, the suicide bombers create the perception that the Sheriff of Notthingham henchmen are incapable of protecting the people, which is the stated ultimate goal of all tyrants, while simultaneously signalling anyone who may be thinking of joining the Robin Hood rebels that rebellion only leads to annihilation of the self and not to victory. So suicide bombers scare the people away from rebellion against the leader while at the same time scaring the people away from becoming henchmen of the leader.

So, to conclude, I don't think the United States is a totalitarian society, so I'm not going to become a suicide bomber. But I fully believe that becoming a suicide bomber is the best choice in a totalitarian society, because it creates fear of both sides of the equation, both rebels and henchmen.

So, suicide bombers, I salute you! I can't tell if any of your societies is really totalitarian, but just in case it is, good job! At least one American understands your efforts and believes they might not be in vain! Thumb Up

I'm sure the suicide bombers are happy to know that they have the support of a schizophrenic paranoid American with a criminal record.

getting arrested, prosecuted, and fined was okay with me because I considered myself a dissident.

You should explain to them how you managed to be arrested, prosecuted, and fined without acquiring a criminal record. They'll probably be interested.
