»US election 2004: Will Bush sack his vice-president?«

Quote:
Speculation abounds in Washington after GOP ex-senator urges new Bush running mate
...
“If Cheney is dropped it would be the highest example of desperation in the history of presidential elections,” he said. “Without a doubt, it would happen in response to the fear Republicans have at Edwards being selected as Kerry’s VP."

While some Democrats acknowledge they’d love Cheney to stay on the ticket because they consider him a drag on Bush, most want to talk instead about their exuberance over Edwards.

Cheney...

Yeah, there really is a hatred for Cheney here in the U.S. In fact, that's who I believe is really pulling the strings in this country. I think Bush is just a figurehead (as are most presidents). The reason why I want Bush out of office is not because of Bush. In fact, I actually like Bush. (get your minds outta the gutter! White laugh) Sure, he's a moron...but then again, so am I! What I don't like is the people underneath him. Cheney, Rumsfield, Ashcroft, etc...all evil men.

Thus Bush is a double-, triple-, quadrupel moron?

No, I don't think so. To be honest, I don't think he even had a choice as to who to pick for his cabinet. I think the Elephants told Bush who to pick and he obliged...so, I guess you could say he's a puppet more than anything.

don't really care either way who the vice president is

i just think powell commands an air of knowledge and power than cheney and rumsfeld...who both seem...well...a bit thick really
