 It's hard enough hanging onto a bike at 160Mph. With this thing you'd need to handcuff your wrists to the bars or you'll be watching it soar off into the distance while waiting for the road to come up and meet your arse.

 reminds me of the bike from and yes, that is a working model! "At Tokyo Motorcycle Show in Japan (2/3/4 Apr.), the official licensed model of the motorcycle in the anime movie Akira (poster) is displayed. This Kaneda bike is not a mere replica, but a full working model (more pics at ITmedia) with twin-steering system and 249-998cc water-cooled 4-cycle engine, and on its cockpit is DVD-navi-system + trackball & ten-key + custom computer-controlled LED meters - all licenced by the author and the publisher of Akira. guess you could call it a quadrocycle...quad-o-moto-cycle...o...e-i-e-i-o? you would be very daring to go that fast, and you would need a long stretch of straight open road. if you were to take a turn at that speed, or hit a pot hole, especially on something like that...man! posted by allone |

Is this thing really a motorcycle? It has 4 wheels...a motorcycle is defined as having only 2 wheels, is it not?. And 400mph? it has the aerodynamics of a microwave oven. I've seen this thing a few times on documentaries on the history channel. Supposedly some guy working at dodge was given free reign to do something really cool for an upcoming auto show to show the power of the Viper Engine. So he slapped this bike together, and there were so many people that wanted to buy one, They actually decided to hand build a few (extremely limited production) but since they are not safe by any standards, they were sold as pieces of art, with no chain, but all you had to do was throw a chain on the thing and zoom. I guess it can't go as fast as the jet bikes out there tho, Jay Leno has one, it's got an old helicopter jet engine, which goes like crazy... posted by GuyFromOH |
