I hate these 3 unnecessary Microsoft keys. And I hate the tab key. Those 4 keys get immediately digged off when I buy a new keyboard. posted by knn |

Tab is very good, espically when I'm doing 12 things at once (alt+tab) but Caps lock is fucking awful. Espicially when it's on and you're typing a case sensitive password. posted by hungarian kid |

although i never really used caps lock until this week.. i just realised at work today that it does have some uses.. i have to fill in land registration forms which are all in caps and numbers and the forms can be 4 pages long, so it can be handy for filling those out.. having said that.. being able to think of just that 1 particular use probably doesn't really merit having a whole button dedicated to it! posted by wAkE_uP_nEo |

Quote: being able to think of just that 1 particular use probably doesn't really merit having a whole button dedicated to it The original use stems from the old typing machines where pressing shift changed the physical position of the drum role, thus holding shift required some force and was tiresome. posted by knn |
