man u should hear "rhapsody of fire" formly known as rhapsody and u'll know that this guitarist is really something

he writes the lyrics and the some of the music if not most of it

he has a couple of side projects, he made a solo album, and he made another band called " luca turilli's dreamquest" where he plays keyboards, and he writes all songs

this is a true not only guitar, but music god

If you want brilliant musician, and amazing guitarist at the same time, check out Devin Townsend. In 'Wrong Side' he shreds and sings a chorus at the same time, heh there must be some degree of difficulty involved in that. I think it's more that he does both perfectly that really cements it. Plus he completely has his own sound, you hear a tiny bit of Vai in his melodies from time to time, but when Vai actually does a guest solo on one of his songs you automatically know that it's actually Vai.

It’s a shame there are so many tone deaf n blind teenagers giving there small opinions on this topic!
Top 20:
The only one whom they all would say was/is the NUMBER 1! and greatest! Influenced n admired by them all.…..

Roy Buchanan…...Buchanan died in Virginia in 1988 at 48...R.I.P guitar GOD

1957, Roy made his recording debut whilst re-inventing guitar and how it talks…… every guitarist today has a bit of Roy in them…...weather they know it or not!

Now for those of you who lack any intelligent and thought out opinions….. just type that name in…..to any old search engine and sit back AND START LEARNING

Ps. make appointment for the ear specialist or just clean those cabbages out of your ears

Wow. you made a top 20 list. Interesting. So, let me ask you a question. How can you have a top 20 list without BB King in it? Have you ever heard of Johnny Lang? These 2 deserve to be way higher than anyone in metallica. Also I cant beleive you have Stevie Ray so low.

yea...its hard call allright!

BUT that top 20 is a europe music poll conducted every year.

my personal choice would have BB king n Howlin Wolf in the top 5, and a few other old blues dudes in that top 20
my main point was for some of the uneducated here to reliase where the guitar sound of today came from which is unmistakably Roy Buchanan.

How many other musicians could say they declined to join the Beatles when they where at top of game
