»All Star Trek episodes I saw ... crap«

I only saw a few episodes from the Shatner series and a few of the movies... all crap.
I've been told of this OTHER Star Trek, is it worth all the hype?

Mute the damn song!

It's funny cause the end credits music is really good, that should be the titles Very Happy

Mute the music ONEder, you're missing the best Trek yet!

You mean the old series with Spock? Actually the old TV episodes are only bearable by children OR if you watch it as "a science-fiction parody".

Ah, so it is crap Star Trek, thank god. I've been told the originals are the best, I was just like "they don't get better? It must be shit." I did get a few good laughs out of Shatners crapness however.

Gimme some info on this 'GOOD' Star Trek, like what's its style, how are the episodes set out etc.

I mean from a fans point of view rather then just some review site or a fan-site with way too many opinions.

Sorry, don't understand. Did you see ST for yourself or not?

When I said GOOD Star Trek I meant Star Trek Enterprise or what ever it's called, the one people a majority of people like. I saw the Shatner one and a few episodes from the Newest one and they were both god-awful and the movies aren't either worth mentioning.

Matter of timeline

Shatner was an old captain (= before Jean Luc Picard).

Actually if you'd ask me, most episodes are for kids (even the new ones).
• Aliens whose only difference to humans is a differently shaped nose
• No matter where they come from, they all speak English.
• Nearly no deaths
• Happy end in every episode
• Illogic crap especially in the old series (with Shatner): Robots could be argued into self-destruction.

Babylon 5 is much more realistic.

However, SOME of the episodes are good.

Yeah, all those things quite annoyed me. One thing I love about Star Wars is the names of the planets and Aliens. I mean, Wookie sounds awesome but Vulcan sounds like a fucking bird.

now i have to defend star trek? first off when was this on tv? oh that's right 1966...very inovative for that time period...very culturally relavant too...

Includes network TV's first interracial kiss when Kirk kisses Uhura. Spock also kisses Nurse Chapel, for a second interracial kiss! First aired November 22, 1968.

breaking boundries..and truely going where no man has gone before..

Very true... And some cool ideas they had, too. But the visual effects are crap for nowadays standards.

Very true... It was even a half-scandal that they put a Russian on board Mr. Chekov
But now the TV series is just a joke. The Star Trek cinema movies with Shatner are OK, though.

The funny thing here is that back then, the networks opted for another sci-fi series which (they felt) portrayed a better vision of interstellar travel...

White laugh
